Ryu could not let Gama get away with binding him at the onsen. Maybe his future sister-in-law's boyfriend could, but not him! So he decided he was going to fight Gama, and they would see who was stronger. Even if Ryu lost, he would get a chance to show Gama that he could fight, too.
