Needless to say, the looks exchanged between Kurama and Hiei went completely unnoticed by Ryu, who didn't normally pick up on that sort of thing. Instead, he summoned his Fire Sword and pointed it right back at Hiei.

"I don't think, I know I can!" he declared, excited at the thought of fighting both of his parents.

This was such a happy day for Kurama. He got to witness both Hiei's skills as a parent, and Ryu was becoming more like Hiei every day. Hiei would probably say that was a bad thing, but Kurama viewed it as a good thing. His heart was still filled with love, and he also wanted to help Ryu train for the tournament. As he was already content here in Ningenkai, seeing Ryu win the tournament would make him the happiest of all, even if it would be sad for his "little dragon" to move out.

"All right, Ryu," said Kurama with a smile. "I'm ready."
