King of Thieves vs. Water Master (Winner: Mizu)

Hello, folks, for our second match we have the infamous King of Thieves, feared all throughout Makai, the Plant Master, Youko Kurama, vs. the quiet and lesser-known Master of Water, Mizu! While she's definitely the underdog here, we've heard she's got a few tricks up her sleeve and she may be able to knock Kurama down a peg or two! It'll be an interesting match...

RULES: Kurama and Mizu will take turns fighting with the "attack" button in the quick reply box below. The Scoreboard (that's me!) will post intermittently, keeping track of their HP. When one combatant's HP falls to zero, he or she has lost consciousness and the remaining fighter has won!

Mizu stepped cautiously into the ring, observing the crowd around her. Few people knew it, but just before Youko Kurama "disappeared," Mizu had been one of the thieves working for him and training under him. She was looking for survival, like many demon thieves, and also to become stronger, like many demons in general. She even met her husband, Maunto, there. But the truth was that she didn't think she was strong enough to beat her former boss. True, she was no weakling, and there could be a chance of her winning, and this was only a practice match, after all...Could she really achieve it?

Well, she supposed they would find out.

[Youko Kurama]

Kurama walked confidently into the ring, mildly surprised at this twist of fate. The assignments for their opponents were completely randomized, and it just so happened that he had to fight one of the thieves who used to work for him. He remembered Mizu as calm, docile, kind, and quiet. And he knew her identity as a wife and mother meant more to her than her identity as a fighter. That, he could respect...and understand. Neither of them were going for the kill, besides...What was the worst that could happen?

Kurama was there...Kurama was there, and he hadn't made a move yet. The battle was already ongoing, so she decided maybe she'd have more of a chance if she threw the first punch.

"Water Bomb!" she said, falling back on her go-to move, as a small puddle of water formed in her hand. Once it was fully formed, she aimed and fired, hoping the water bomb would at least do some damage to Kurama.

"Now, Mizu, I know you can do better than that." Kurama shook his head; although he hadn't been left unscathed, this water bomb certainly hadn't weakened him to a considerable amount. "I want to see more of what you are capable of." He grinned and fired back. "Rose Whip!"

[Mizu]

Mizu fell to the ground, badly injured from the Rose Whip, but she knew she wasn't out just yet. Before they could rule her unfit to fight, she stood up and tightened her jaw. "Do you want to see what I can do?" Mizu said back, tempted to add "old boss" at the end, but she didn't want that out in the open just yet. "I have much improved...BUBBLE GUN!" she shouted, manipulating water into bullets, hoping to pierce his skin.

Well, the Bubble Gun was certainly a stronger attack...Kurama cried out in pain as he dodged many of the water bullets but some of them did indeed pierce his skin. He tried out his Rose Whip again, hoping it would do a little better this time.

[Mizu]

Mizu was glad to see that some of her bubble bullets pierced Kurama's skin, but she was less happy after his counterattack. Another swipe from the Rose Whip, and Mizu certainly felt the pain. She was going to need to clean all the blood out of these clothes later, if she didn't just throw them away for being ripped...But why was she even thinking about that now? She still had enough energy to perform another Bubble Gun, so that was what she did.

[Youko Kurama]

Wow, today was definitely not Kurama's day. The bubble bullets pierced his skin painfully, and he cried out in pain. He did not want to lose this match; it would surely set a bad precedent for the tournament. He used his Rose Thorn Whip Wheel on Mizu.

[Mizu]

Mizu used her Water Wall to block his attack and suffered very little of the damage. Hooray! Energized, she shot yet another Bubble Gun at Kurama. How many more bubble bullets could his skin take?
